Big things are accomplished by breaking them down into small things.
But small things seem insignificant.
The further we come in life, it becomes easier to convince ourselves these smaller things are not worth our time.
Humility keeps us willing to accomplish these small goals.
With every year I find myself focusing on the baby steps in life. Just push through this one hour and you can take a break. Just the next five minutes without checking email. These baby steps get easier with repetition until they become habits. But they are still incremental and difficult in the beginning. Worse yet, habits are more easily unlearned than learned.
Humility becomes more important as time goes by.
But it also doesn’t get any easier.
